This historic home was overdue for a kitchen renovation. Previously updated in the 90’s, the space underwent a full gut and remodel. The new kitchen remained within the existing footprint of the kitchen. All major appliances were moved to maximize counter space, functionality, and storage space. A mosaic tile floor relates to the historic roots of the home, and coordinates with the classic white cabinetry and subway tile backsplash. Chrome fixtures and hardware complete the space.
Construction for the space was completed over a two-month period. All materials and finishes were ‘quick-ship’ to ensure that the construction schedule could move along fast. Small challenges came along, not uncommon for a historic home. The team removed knob-and-tube wiring that was original to the structure. Careful consideration from the construction team helped to maintain the integrity of the home’s doors, millwork, and other original elements trhoughout the house.
